Safety Program

Based in Annandale, Minnesota, our staff of safety professionals has extensive experience with all types of telephone operating companies. This experience has given us the expertise needed to serve our clients in today's rapidly changing safety, health and environmental arena.

Our Safety Program is a total safety, health, and environmental loss-control program designed specifically for Independent Telephone Companies.

Service Offerings

The MTA Safety Program can provide your company with expertise in the following areas:

  • Safety and Occupational Health
  • Development of safety policies and practices
  • Safety training for employees, supervision, and management in the areas of on the job and off the job safety
  • Consultation and assistance in the management of safety and health issues
  • Proper interpretation of state and federal safety, health and transportation regulations and assistance in compliance
  • Job safety analysis and safety and health auditing to determine client safety needs and establish safe and healthful work places and practices
  • Analysis of lost time personal injury incidents and serious motor vehicle incidents to determine cause and recommend corrective action
  • Assistance in the area of industrial hygiene and chemical safety
  • Environmental Consulting and compliance assistance in the areas of:
    • Underground Storage Tanks
    • Hazardous Waste Disposal
    • Community Right to Know
    • Asbestos and Clean Air Issues

Safety Training Format

As part of the services, the MTA Safety Program provides a minimum of nine scheduled contacts between staff safety professionals and member companies per year.

These contacts consist of:

  • Six safety training sessions with employees.
  • One manager/supervisor safety training session.
  • Two field observation visits.

Safety training sessions typically run approximately 2.5 hours in length and are scheduled between September and May.

  • Over 6 years of management and safety experience
  • Specializing in the areas of occupational health, industrial hygiene, and ergonomics
