Hantaviruses are transmitted to humans by rodents and is a disease that causes human lungs to fill with fluid, resulting in death in 36 percent of patients. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has determined telephone installers are one of the highest occupations at risk to catch this syndrome due to the environment they work in. Therefore during training we reviewed the symptoms, the potential danger if misdiagnosed, and how to prevent exposure.
