Brian Berdan

Director, Product Management

Brian Berdan leads the strategy, design and development for outside plant solutions – with an emphasis in fiber distribution and splitter technologies. Brian has served in product management roles for more than 15 years. In the last 10, he has owned PM responsibility for power generation and data center markets. Brian is a noted author in industry trade magazines, and holds a B.S in Mechanical Engineering.

Jon Brown

Senior Technology Leader, Vantage Point Solutions

Jon has been with Vantage Point for 14 Years and has been in the Tech and Telecommunications Industry for over 20 years. Jon specializes in all things "IP", and has been instrumental in network implementations for clients around the country. Jon frequently presents on various data and security related topics.

Shaun Carlson

Director of Information Technology, Arvig

Shaun Carlson is responsible for leading all IT operations and network engineering for Arvig Enterprises. With more than 15 years in the telecommunications industry, Carlson's expertise includes a broad range of IP and TDM technologies, enterprise networking and systems design, telephony, server and desktop support, web and database software development, sales and customer support. He joined the company in 2011 as Senior Network Engineer, moved into the position of Network Engineering Manager in 2013, was promoted to Senior Manager of Information Technology in 2014 and was promoted to Director of IT in 2016. He earned his BS degree in Management Information Systems from North Dakota State University, and his MBA from the University of Mary in Fargo with a focus on Executive Management. In addition to his knowledge of network administration, Carlson also has experience with classified communications and human resources for the United States military, and presently serves as the Force Support Squadron Operations Officer for the North Dakota Air National Guard.

Iris Carrasquillo

Manager - Tariffs and Training, NECA

Iris offers tariff and training support to NECA member companies nationwide. Her professional background of 26 years in the telecommunications industry includes 17 years with NECA. Iris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and a Master of Science degree in Instructional and Performance Technology.

Christine Castagneri

Marketing Management Partner, Cooperative Network Services

As marketing evolves in the 21st century, clients are using what Chris discovers to create connections with customers in new and unique ways. It's based on more than 20-years of experience, creatively directing advertising and marketing strategy. For her it's simply about the hard work of creating happy customers, thriving companies, and prosperous communities.

Mark Chambers

National Director, NeoNova

Mark Chambers has served as the Director of Sales at the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative (NRTC) since 2007. His background in video, both linear and OTT, includes working with companies to business model, launch and market services.

Jerome Day

Consulting Engineering Program Director, Calix

Jerome manages Calix’s Consulting Engineer and Consultant Liaison Program that works with and supports the consulting community that is such an integral part of the broadband communications industry and provides valuable planning, design, and engineering services to Calix customers. Jerome is a dedicated Calix resource working to provide the consulting community with the most current information about Calix solutions that can be used in their client’s networks. Prior to joining Calix in 2009 Jerome was with Nortel supporting regional service providers in the role of optical sales engineering, and prior to that was a telecom consultant with the Engineering Associates, an Atlanta based consulting engineering company. Jerome holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Southern Polytechnic State University and resides in Kennesaw, GA. Mike is a CCNA certified professional with 25 years experience in designing and implementing telecom systems for Rural Carriers and the Department of Defense.

Shannon Heim

Senior Counsel, Dykema Gossett

Shannon Heim is a senior telecommunications attorney at the law firm of Dykema Gossett. She specializes in the state and federal regulatory challenges facing rural ILECs and other broadband providers, ranging from complex compliance issues to contentious enforcement actions. Shannon also negotiates complex commercial agreements and advises telco and data center clients on CPNI compliance, privacy policy and cyber security planning and breach response.

Ben Humphrey

Vice President, Finley Engineering Company, Inc.

Ben Humphrey has a wealth of experience both in the field and in leadership positions with Finley Engineering. Currently serving as Vice President of the Minnesota Broadband group out of Slayton, Mr. Humphrey was also appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors for the company in 2014. Strategic and visionary, Mr. Humphrey is often called into projects early in the discussion phase as an experienced consultant who knows what questions need to be addressed and draws from first-hand experience in the development of strategy and implementation plans. Mr. Humphrey specializes in plant construction and management and is responsible for engineering service project estimations and contract management, system planning, cost studies, preparing budgets and establishing design criteria for networks. Over the years Mr. Humphrey has lead significant projects building networks for clients including Sprint, AT&T and MCI. He is also a member of the Building Industry Consulting Service International and is a certified real estate broker.

Karthik Kailasam

Director of Product Management, Emerson Network Power

Karthik Kailasam is Director of Integrated Modular Solutions for Emerson Network Power, North America. With 18+ years of experience critical infrastructure, Kailasam focuses on data center and telecom customers deploying intelligent modular infrastructure at the network edge. Past roles include program management, corporate supply chain, global commodity management and marketing.

Andy has served the Rural Telcom industry for 17 years as a thought leader, ringing automation and efficiency into the industry. As a software and services provider, 7Sigma, for which Andy is the CTO and Co-founder, is a niche company that serves over 150 ILECS throughout the US. 7Sigma has created its own class, Carrier Domain Intelligence, where big data yields actionable results for carriers.
