About the Minnesota Telecom Alliance Safety Program

The Minnesota Telecom Alliance Safety Program is a safety, health, environmental, and loss control consulting service designed specifically to meet the needs of telecommunications companies. Our staff of safety professionals has extensive experience with all types of telecommunications companies. This experience has given us the expertise needed to serve our clients in today’s rapidly changing safety, health, and environmental arena.

Service Offerings:

The MTA Safety Program can provide your company with consulting and compliance assistance in the following areas:

Safety and Occupational Health

  • Development of safety policies and practices
  • Safety training for employees, supervisors, and management in the areas of on-the-job and off-the-job safety.
  • Consultation and assistance in the management of safety and health issues.
  • Proper interpretation of state and federal safety, health, and transportation regulations and assistance in compliance.
  • Job safety analysis, safety and health auditing to determine client safety needs and establish safe and healthful workplaces and practices.
  • Analysis of lost time personal injury incidents and serious motor vehicle incidents to determine cause and recommend corrective action.
  • Assistance in the area of industrial hygiene and chemical safety.

Safety Training Format

As part of the services outlined, the MTA Safety Program provides approximately six scheduled contacts per year between staff safety professionals and member companies.

These contacts consist of:

  • Six safety training sessions with employees, taught either via live interactive video teleconference or individually via MTA’s Learning Management System (company’s discretion)+
  • Two annual virtual visits or specialized training for management
  • New Employee Safety Orientation Training via Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Full access to MTA’s Safety LMS Library
  • Develop and maintain a company-specific Safety Manual
  • Coordination with local certified professionals for First Aid/CPR
  • Assistance with maintaining required drivers’ files and Safety Data Sheets
  • Full-time access to a MTA Safety Consultant dedicated to your company

+Safety training sessions typically run approximately 2 hours in length, and can include mulitple topics during that time. The sessions are scheduled between September and May.
